Area of Interest Mechatronics, mobile robotics and computer vision. Teaching Robot design competition in the course "Mechatronical Systems". Datorsystem- och Programvaruteknik, 5p Research Working in the MECH-WEED project. The aim is to reduce the amount of chemicals used in crop protection by non-chemical solutions, e.g. mechanical weed control. The project started in 1997 with development of a row-guidance system for agricultural field machinery. We have also developed methods for plant identification to be able to do in-row weeding (between the plants within the row). Current focus on the project is to make our algorithms for plant identification more robust to in-field and between field variations of plant visual properties (e.g. shape, colour, growth stage) More information is available in the project webpage.
